A brief history...
The Black Knights of Army played their first game at Tate Rink, located in the Holeder Center, on October 25, 1985. The Cadets opened with a 5-0 win over Ryerson Tech of Canada to begin what has become a real home ice advantage through the years. The friendly confines of Tate Rink has a seating capacity of 2,746 making it the largest facility in the Atlantic Hockey league. Not only is Tate Rink a top notch facility, but all seating is close to the ice so there isn't a bad seat in the house!
Tate Rink was named after brothers Joseph S. Tate ('41) and Frederic H. S. Tate ('42) who were pilots in the Army Air Force during World War II and were both shot down in action.
